Ingredients
  

  • 4 oz (113 grams) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 ablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons finely diced red onion (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons briny capers (optional)
  • Thinly sliced smoked salmon (cold-smoked or hot-smoked)
  • Fresh cucumber, sliced into thin rounds

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, fresh lemon juice, chopped dill, and ground black pepper. Mix well until smooth and creamy. For extra flavor, stir in diced red onion or capers.
  • Lay out a thin slice of smoked salmon on a flat surface. Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture over the salmon. Roll gently but tightly from one end to the other, making sure the roll is even. Optionally, place the rolled salmon on a cucumber slice for added crunch.
  • Place the rolls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape.
  • Arrange the rolls on a chilled platter. Garnish with fresh dill, lemon wedges, or capers, if desired.
